427 factory dyno testing - 1967
 
Apologies if this has already been posted, but it's pretty cool to see how it was done back in the day. Fast forward 50 years and it's fair to say that data logging has come a long way...!

Very cool. 1st time i've seen it, heard about it over and over.

Tom Hoover kind of did a similar thing with the hemi. He'd have them on the dyno, run them hard. Ones that didn't blow were sent to the nascar race teams, they were the good ones.

I remember using the Stutzka water Dyno.......and a 3" water main for the load........

Blew a few motors up.....like a bomb going off......but exciting anyway......

We figured out many items on the Dyno in the old days.....especially with rod lengths and head flows......primitive to today's standards......but fun and excitement every time we ran....
