Oil Pump??

What oil pump are most of you guys running? I know that the Cobra Jet in the parts book recommends a High Press and High Vol oil pump but the 427 just calls for a Hig Volume.

I think the number for the High Vol Pump is "57HV".

I use a high volume pump.

I recently changed my pump when I changed my oil pan, and put a windage tray in.. The pump I took out was new <1,000 miles ans was a sealed power.. I put in the melling M57HV and I got 50% more pressure (and flow) cold is now 78 psi and hot is 63 at 2800 rpm.. not bad for 60 bucks...

Just recently puchased a blueprinted FE Pump from Precision Oil Pumps in Madera, CA. Dont have the phone number here but the owner is Doug. I will send a number and e-mail address later. Since its the heart of the engine I wouldnt skimp, they are around 65.00 and I would use an ARP drive or Precision makes a Billet Drive for about 14.00. What I have heard, all the pumps come from Melling. Talk to Doug, he has a great pump and goes through alot of processes to build the pump, Moly-coated gears, ect.

Thanks. I used a Melling High Volume High Pressure and new pickup for about $90.00.
