FE vacuum ????

I'm starting final assembly of 428CJ for a Superformance Cobra due in 5 weeks and looking back over my info may have missed something.. This car has power brakes and the cam i have installed is listed in their catalog as marginal for vacuum . I talked to cam rep. and they thought " should be OK " .... I don't want to have to change cam right after I install.. my engine is 428CJ 10.1-1 Edel alum. heads Alum flywheel 2x4 med. rise 2-550 holleys [ from past experience 2x4 less vacuum] cam in question is Comp. Cams 280H [230 @ .050 - .530 lift] Any experience with similar combination or this problem??? Ive recieved mixed opinions from my local group...THANKS Steve McD.

I can't speak to the cam specs and what it will mean to your vaccume, but I have seen electric vaccume assistors. Just an option if you want to leave the cam alone.

no problem..

You should have no problem.. I have a similar spec cam and I pull PCV and Vacuum off my 8v manifold. If you encounter stiff braking (not always a bad thing) put an inline check valve between your brake booster and manifold. The booster will then be isolated from manifold flucuation and store vacuum for the times you need it.. (you should run one either way whether you need it or not...)
