Could the damper have slipped giving you a bad timing reading.
Water injections..Installed on a 351 way back the 80's, plugs look brand new, all the time.

my 452 FE used to do this, as yes I just got used to letting out the clutch a little while other foot on the brake. Make sure your TOTAL timing is no more that 36 degrees. I did this and it seemed get better.

Do you by chance have an electric fan? If so, disconnect the fan and then start and stop the engine and see if that fixes your problem. Sometimes the fan still spinning on shutdown bleeds voltage over to the ignition and or MSD. If this is your problem, you can install a diode or relay on the electric fan and this will solve your issue.

That can only happen if not using relays for fan control.

That is correct. As mentioned in my earlier post, the solution is to either install a relay (if you don't already have one) or diode (if you don't want to use a relay) and that will solve the issue. The correct way (for several reasons) is to have your fan run through a relay. |
I had the same problem when the gas station I was using changed ownership and brands (SUNOCO to BP) when I put race gas additive on a fill up the dieseling problem disappeared, most gas companies are upping the ethanol content in their gasoline to meet new EPA regulations, which is effecting how our old motors.
