A 428 SCJ Running... Heads have been redone,a cam 5 something duration. A mechanic friend has one and asked me to
see approx. What it's worth. He was keeping it for his 59 Ford PU, But may be talked into selling it ... Ball Park is all I ask ... |

I just saw a 428 Police Interceptor in the Tulsa (Bargain Post) Auto trader for $600.00. I would think the engine your looking at would be worth more. Maybe $800 - $1000. Send George Anderson an email he is the FE GURU.

A good core motor would get $1200 as you describe.. IF (big IF) it is indeed an SCJ.. It is a rare motor, you can pull the oil pan and tell. A "built" SCJ here I mean well built and fresh... $2800-3500 depending on bolt on's. A fully built SCJ will get as much as 5k complete in Calif. Police motors are about half of that, but a good choice if you are looking for a solid block.
