Question on intake
I have an 2x4 alum. intake with no hole in the front for the short water line from the water pump. It looks like someone filled the hole and sanded it smooth. (but I am not sure).
Do I need to have this put back in? Why would it be removed to start with?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

If it wasn't needed, it probubly wouldn't have been there to begin with. For real, I 've been told they won't cool right without them, but never did the experiment myself to verify this. As for why it was removed, maybe it was on an alcohol burning drag motor with no water pump and filled water passages.

IT HAS TO BE THERE SO MARK IT AND DRILL TO 37/64" AND TAP IT TO 3/8-18NPT.THEN GO TO HARDWARE STORE AND GET A 3/8 PIPE STUB 3" LONG THAT IS THREADED ON BOTH ENDS CUT IT IN HALF AND YOU NOW HAVE A SPARE.
