Original 428 Dual Quad Intake Identification
1 Attachment(s)
Can anyone tell me if this is an Original 428 Intake?. I'm told it is but there's no casting numbers on it. The only cast numbers are the cylinder identification numbers at each port and the firing order.
This setup was on my cobra (FE390) when I bought it but decided to change to a single quad setup for street. Now I want to sell it but not until I can identify it for certain. Seems to me that if it was anything but original, the manufacturer would have their name plastered all over it for everyone to see. I have more pictures at www.cobragarage.com/428_intake.htm Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Gene |
it is actually a medium riser 427 manifold.. see the post I got sideways on in FE forum for the part #...

How much without the carbs??
|
Scobrac,
My best guess was that it is original as well, but I wanted to get other opinions to be sure. I'm still 'waffling' on whether to sell it, but when or if I do, I don't want to represent it as original if it's not. Thanks for your help and I'll let you know if I decide to part with it. Gene |
I don't really care if it is or not.. I drive a pretty nice fake as it is. It's value is pretty limited without the original carbs. Worth more than a repro, to be sure but not the big money you could get with a pair of 735's on it..
