That looks beautiful..... How much higher does the carb sit on the Victor Jr than the Performer RPM? I need to fit it under my ERA hood... Are they available yet? It will work even better when I stroke my motor out to 480 cubes this winter......- right Mike? Pat |

Pat- bear with me and I will give you some more photos as soon as I can get my son to post them as I am computer impaired. I did take 1/2 inch off of the mounting pad. The manifold I am presently using is a reworked BT and it is a terrific piece but the
Dominator sets too high for any kind of air filter. Wayne |

Thanks Pat, yes it is a Dominator, and I may try it on the Victor for R & G, and prop the hood, like they did on the Dragonsnake. Hell, I may give it a dose of nitrous also. The car is 11 years old, built it myself, and the other two engines I have had in it are on engine stands in garage. The paint has held up great and still looks good after all these years, my concoction of red and Wimbleton white stripes. It has run 10.40 on motor without slicks and I feel with slicks and a dyno tune I could get her in the high nines. Anyone can make a 351 Windsor run, but 351 Windsors didn't come in 427 SC's or did they?

Thanks Pat- it is a 1050 from Pro Systems in Michigan, cost me about 12 hundred as I recall. I also have a little Braswell 850 that is a great little DP and about the smoothest carb for performance I have ever owned and it was almost as expensive as the dominator. Don't know about the height of the RPM manifold as I have never run one, so have no comparison vis-a-vis a Victor. I am going to try to put the Victor on in the next few days and will measure it for you. I can tell you that the Victor is not angle cut on the carb mounting pad, and I think mine was 6.49 inches tall from the front intake mounting surface of the block to the carb mounting pad of the intake. I don't know if I have explained it suffficiently for you, but if not, I can measure it anyway you want, just let me know. By, the way your car sounded pretty good on the cleaning off the tires tape.

I will be dyno running my FE 450 CID this fall after driving season ends in the Northwest. My current FE uses the Performer RPM intake, reworked. We are going to the dyno for the specific reason to test the Performer RPM against the Victor. During this test only the manifold and optimizing carb. changes will be made. One variable will exist: That being both manifolds will be port and plenum configured to optimize power in the RPM range the motor is designed to run in. So they will not, of course, be in a stock configuration. (But no one would run either manifold out of the box anyway.) Since my Cobra is mostly street driven a broad power curve is more important the peak HP. (As it should be for anything other than a drag race specific engine.) This dyno test will be to determine the best overall power curve between 3000 & 6000 RPM with more focus on the torque numbers than HP. Some attention will paid to the 2000 to 3000 factor. As all street driven cars run here as well and only those fooling themselves do not consider this area. Anyway, I would be happy to share the general results with you if you can wait this long. Probably done in October. Please let me know. Oh, one other point. Even though I am running alumium heads I don't run over 9.5:1 and 150lbs ccp on pump gas. If you stay up with the direction the petroleum industry is going. 92 octane quality will be going down. I say this to point out that this lower number will negatively effect the single plane and could create the wrong conclusion if you plan to run a high compression. number. Respectfully submitted. To WT COBRA You have a carb on that engine?? I saw two 1/2" gas lines going in that engine, and two fuel pumps in the trunk.;) Opec was paying you not to use a carb. ONLY KIDDING WAYNE. Don't hurt the car,R&G is in 4 weeks. There will be a grudge race between you and that Black Cobra D.Sado.
