FE Milodan Oil Pan

Hi Everyone

Was cruising up in the mountains Sunday and hit a rock in the road which bent my drainplug to my Oil Pan. It started leaking so had to high tail it back to civilization before any trouble.

My question is,. is there another oil pan that doesn't have the depth of this milodan 5 quart pan for a 427. This one extends down about 5 inches or so. Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

The most trim line oil pan I have seen was one built by Armando in the Los Angeles area for about $350. You can do a search on this site for his address and telephone number.

How much clearance do you have between the bottom of your oil pan and the pavement? I think your oil pan is probably about 6" in overall height (top of gasket lip to the lowest point on your pan base). My pan sets almost 4" off the ground and speed bumps scare the sh_t out of me. You may need to crank up your coil-overs a bit to get the clearance you want. However, there are always compromises with anything you do.

Good luck.

This the one I have

Made by Milodon as well, 6 inch sump depth on the front sump.

Cobra roadrace pan

"ROAD RACE & COBRA - FRONT SUMP
Front sump design for use in road race applications in pre-74 chassis . Features multiple baffles to provide oil supply during violent turns, acceleration and deceleration. Fits most stock chassis using front sump pan. "

Lowest thing on my car is the lip on the scattershield and the pan sump

Is this the same one you have, You said 5 quarts??

That is certainly similar to mine in shape. I don't think mine has any baffles in it. Does any company make a pan that is not as deep but still holds the same amount of oil?

Did a search on Armando but found nothing. Do you have a tel. number?
