Mustang & Fords Blew up 21st Century 390 Project

Dang, how embarassing! I feel for the guy. The crank let go after a 7100 rpm dyno test. Personally I question whether it was wise to spin a cast iron crank that high but I'm no expert.
One of the on-line magazines blew up a 428 last year if I remember correctly. Doesn't help the FE motor's reputation much. Anybody else following the story have any other thoughts on it? Was it dumb luck or just dumb?

for this 21st century FE, didn't they weaken the block by installing roller cam bearings and weaken the crank by cross-drilling it against the advice of the bearing supplier. Wasn't it assembled in the shops of Jack Roush (Mr Windsor)?

Sounds like they pushed the envelope too many ways; no surprise something gave.
