So. Cal. FE builder
I am putting together a 390 FE with a 428 crank and Edelbrock performer upgrades. I need the names of competent and reasonable builders in Orange County L.A. area.

You should talk to Scott Jones in Costa Mesa. He has built 3 engines for me in the past 15 years and his work is rock solid.
Scott built the 390 for my Unique and it is a ground shaker.
He does a lot of Chevy work but knows FE's and how to upgrade the oil passages.
When my engine was going together there was a 428CJ and a Chrysler Hemi being assembled. His number is 714-540-4381.

A little further East, but does first-rate FE builds: Don Borders, Image Auto Works. 760-200-5882. An FE guy for 35 years.

FE Engine Builder
An engine guy I have used for my Chevy engines is a guy named Bob McKray. He is in Mission Viejo and builds everything well. I have seen every type of engine in his shop. He has been featured in Hot Rod several times for the engines he builds. His number is 949-458-7087

Don't forget HOC they are in anaheim. They do hemi's, flatheads, you name it.

Bon Borders built my car and it was beautifully done, It fell into some disrepair but it is still a quality piece I am slowly putting back together. I think his website is www.imageautoworks.com |
