I AM LOOKING AT A 390 TO BUY AND OWNER SAID IT MIGHT BE THE OPTIONAL 390 H.P. IS THERE A WAY TO IDENTIFY OR A GOOD ARTICLE DESCRIBING HOW TO CHECK?

Steven Crist's book (Rebuilding big block fords) is pretty good for identifying blocks and demystifying numbers, but you may want to post on the FE forum where the experts reside

The Heads should be #C4SE-6090A or C0AE-6090D It should also be a solid lifter engine..
