Edelbrock rocker shafts
A friend of mine has broken 3 shafts since he switched heads to the Edelbrocks. Didn't change cam. Any ideas?

Where are they breaking?

I believe it was at the pedestal close to the end of the shaft, right through the bolt hole

Did all three break in the same place?

Standard deal for FE's. He needs end stands. Probably runs the motor harder since he upgraded to the E heads. Not usually the fault of the head, just the stand design.

ERA, they all broke the same.
427, never seen the end stands(I'm not an FE person),any suppliers I can contact to help my buddy out?

Precision Oil Pumps make a nice billet set of end stands for around $125.

Although not listed on their website, they usually have sets available on eBay (search 427 Ford under parts) but not at the moment. |
