Fe Harmonic Balancer Spacer
I have just replaced the thin 390 style harmonic balancer on my FE with a new unit fron DSC Motorsport. The new unit is wider and has moved my crank pulley about an inch outward from the engine. I need to know if different length spacers are available for FE pulley/balancer conbinations.

I just installed a ATI superdamper on my 390 and there was no change in the dementions.??????

An easier way might be to look at water pump pulley spacers and alternator brackets.
If your new balancer was to be a direct replacement, it should fit. However, you might look at the spacer sleeve on the crank nose behind the balancer. As long as it fits the oil seal in the timing cover, it could be shortened to accommodate your set-back needs. Al |
