427 alum flywheel
any one using an aluminum flywheel ?I just bought another car,,a shell valley with a fresh 427 from John Chiaccy,,{howeveruspellit}
it's 427 so,.030 over,steel $ crank,arias pistons,10.5,comp 294 cam with roller rockers,new dove high rise top end with new dual 715 holleys,balanced and blue printed,new alum flywheel,my question is the motor dosent seem to rev as fast as I expected,,years ago I had 427s with old style alum flywheels,,if u floor kicked it at idle,,u couldnt get out fast enough to not rev limit it,,this motor is brutal fast at 3500 rpm and up,,but revs like a 390,,any one have input ?thanks,,Tk "burn em if you got em" ar,, |
Misfit Maybe the larger cam and 2 715 holley carbs have something to do with the problem. Is the timing good? Who set the motor up, are the carbs too rich or lean. Fuel pressure OK? Check the basics first then go to a Dyno. Is the cam retarded or advanced?? This will change the motor overall preformance. Need info to help with the problem??? Rick Lake
