Will this work?

I just received my track pipes last week and would like to paint them white (ie. VHT flat white look) but want them to last and avoid the rusting problem I see so commonly.
My idea is to ceramic coat them inside and out (no muffler or glasspacks in them) and then apply the VHT on top of the ceramic coating. Has anyone done this? What would the downside be not withstanding price?
It seems to me yours pipes would last for a long time and still be able to touch up easily without the collector rusting issue. I appreciate your thoughts.

Just paint them, then repaint them, then again next year. Besides, they'll probubly not be so pretty with the dents and rock chips the racetrack may do to them.

For a list of coating shops, go to "Shop Talk", click on "Ceramic Coatings. I just posted them there for another fellow.

www.hotshotperformance.com They have white powdercoating. I have painted mine with many coats of VHT white. I'll see how they hold up to see if coating is needed. If you plan on running at the track often as mrfixit said maybe just paint them......over and over and... rocks and dents will crap your nice coating. especially white.%/
