427 High-Riser
Hi,
I am new to this so bare with me. I have 2 questions. 1) Will my 427 with High Riser heads fit into a Shelby CSX 4000 series cobra? With these heads the carb. height is about 3-4 inches higher than medium or low riser heads. 2) I may need a new High Riser intake manifold. Does anyone know who may carry one. Also needed are the HR intake gaskets. Any sources for those? Thank You Mike |
It would'nt fit my FFR,as with 2x4s and med. riser and little round repro. air cleaners, I have 1/4" to 1/2" clearance on the top. You can look in the hood scoop to see how tight it is.You need to find a Shelby and look in the scoop.

Wow, that's close, 1/4 to 1/2 of clearance. Thank You for the reply. I will check with Shelby.

I think it will fit,I am going to find out very soon, but I am sure I have seen csx cars that were described as having high rise motors, and the original 427 comp cars had them.I have a high rise in my SV now and had to do some work to the hood and air cleaners, and I have less than 1/4 inch clearance, actually the scoop isnt the problem, but the srea between the scoop and the rear of the hood,,Tk

You need to use the single 4bbl intake, C4AE or something like that. It is only 1/2" taller than the blue thunder medium riser single 4bbl intake.
|
Mike it will fit, but you have to run a single 4 bbl. Ran this setup in an SPF, and now in a Kitkham.
