Late model "juice" 427 TO blocks
Hey guys,
Do any of ya'll know if the 427 TO hydraulic blocks are supposed to have an oil pressure bypass plunger or not? I got one the other day, it had a plug in the back of the block, but no plunger or spring in the hole. It was apparently ran like this so I'm not sure.... I gave a glance in there to see if I could spot the bypass hole but it was so grimy I couldn't tell. Thanks in advance..... Randy |
Randy, other than the 68+ sideoiler service blocks the only late model 427s I know of are the marine blocks. Don't know if they would have the oil pressure relief valve like the 390hp, 406 and 63-65 427s. what year is your block? Is it a marine block? Also I don't think any 27s had this after 65 when the sideoiler came out. But i'm by far no expert. Glenn.
