428 oil pressure up-date
This has taken me a while but I think I finally fixed my low oil pressure concerns. I replaced a HV oil pump with a HP pump. ( Melling M57HP ) I'm now getting 60 psi @3000 rpms vs. 40 psi with the HV. This is with the engine warm. Oil temp is at 80 degrees C. I would appreciate any comments about this pump replacement. Is there any thing I should watch out for. One thing I'm not sure of, will the distributor and cam gear be a problem with the add pump pressure. Thank all of you for your help. I'm looking forward to your comments.
