Bob:
I am running that cam in my sideoiler. Like it a lot. Makes lots of power between the 2600 - 5000 rpm range, nice idle, very tractable. What else do you want to know? Bud:JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE |
I am running that cam as well. Runs really strong, nice lope to the idle, and this cam has been suggested by quite a few folks....
It's a keeper. |
If you're thinking about that Crower cam, also consider the Isky 351360. Very similar lift and duration as the Crower but the Isky has 108 LC vs 114 for the Crower. I've never heard that Crower idle before but in general, the smaller the LC angle, the "lumpier" your idle. I'm running the Isky and I love it all the way around. Pulls very strong from idle all the way up to when the rev limiter kicks in at 6000.
On Desktop Dyno, I also get similar results for both. With my setup, DD says 500hp@5500, 511ft-lbs@4000 for the Isky and 472hp@5500, 530 ft-lbs@4000 for the Crower. Chris |
Budman, what cyl. head and intake setup, thanks for the info Bob

Otto:
I am running Edelbrock Performer heads (Medium Riser, polished), an original Ford Sidewinder manifold and a Holley 800 CFM Double Pumper with Mech secondaries. 465 Horsepower at 5300 rpm, 490 ft lbs of torque. Nice motor. Bud :JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE |
otto,
You might consider having Crower custom grind you a cam instead going with one of their off the shelf cams. They will assist you in your decision making process. The 16357 is 114LC. I'd prefer 110LC over that. The narrower torque curve is fun to drive too... If you don't drive the car every day, and plan on porting your heads some, you could go up just a tad on lift and dur @ .050 and still have torque even down at 2000 rpms if your carb is tuned right. Remember, its a very light car. Good Luck. |
