427 C/O rear main seal ?

My 427 C/O is leaking oil down the front of the plate between the block and the bellhousing.
I did change the oil seals twice and still leaking. The strange thing is that it leaks when the engine is off. Even after standing for 10 days it still leaks. This makes me think that it not the rear main seal , but the rear camshaft bearing cover. Where else would enough oil accumulate to keep dripping for days after the engine has been shut off ?
Or is it capilarity that pulls the oil out between the rear main cap and the block ?
How do I know it is not the rear campshaft bearing cover ? The flywheel and the plate inside is dry. No oil there.
And if it is the main seal, any tips on how to get that leak fixed for good ?
Any help and suggestions wellcome !!!!

Eljaro,
Check out the "427 Oil Leak Mystery" thread. Dave's 427 leaks lots of oil down the front of the plate - in fact so much oil leaked to run in through the holes in the plate and accumulated in the bottom of the bell housing. He drilled a hole in the bottom of the bell housing for draining accumulated oil. I believe his dripped oil for awhile but eventually subsided. Hope your can be repaired.

Eljaro,
is it possibly overfilled, or parked on a steep incline? If the oil level is above the lower lip of the rear seal, it will leak out. I wouldn't think it is the cam plug, as there shouldn't be enough oil to leak for ten days. Check the rear intake manifold-to-block seal, that is a real problem area, and it leaks down between the plate and block. If that's not it, you may need to pull your block plate off and inspect. Put some tracer dye in it and run for a while before you do, so you can follow the oil trail. Let us know what you find.
