selling my 427so fe engine and two blocks
 
I have a 68 427 side oiler for sale and two other 67 side oilers for sale too the engine is already done with 13 to 1 comp. and 428 scj heads roller cam dove rocker rollers a very strong engine you can call about it or the blocks w/cranks and rods and heads my number is 954 274 5066 my name is daniel thanks

I didn't think they made side oilers after 67.

1968 was the last year for 427so,it was a hydraulic lifter block.I think ford probably produced blocks well past 68 however. chuck

Thanks for the clarification. I'm new having just acquired my car in August and on a steep learning curve. Someone told me side-oilers were only produced between 65-67. It wasn't the first and won't be the last time I get wrong info. Info about these FE big blocks is getting murky.

I have a 1971 side oiler "High Nickel" block. Ford continued to enhance and manufacture these blocks through 1971 as "Replacement"/or "Service" Blocks. I bought this block 4 years ago, still in the origional Ford box/pallet. Jack Tarner, (Tulsa OK.) just built me a standard bore, stroked unit including ported Edelbrock aluminum heads, 1968 "Tunnel Port" (2 four barrel) entake. The motor is now in a 1965 "Cyclone". If it doesn't live up to Mercury standards, I'll put it in my cobra. I had David Kee build a new top-loader and added a Gear Vendors overdrive so I can enjoy the 4:11's in town and relax with 3:25's on the highway. Please find picture attached.

Do you have a special tailshaft for the Gear Vendors? I understand to put that setup in a Cobra would require a special tailshaft because of the driveshaft length. A GV unit would be a sweet ticket in a Cobra.

Hi Gary,
The application uses your stock tail shaft. Gearvendors provides a new aluminum cone. I had to cut about 11 inches off my drive shaft and this would be sweet in a street Cobra. In fact they sent everything needed to make the application. If you look at the picture attached to my previous post, you can see the unit adds very little length to the drive train.
