Anyone Using VP Racing Fuel ?

Now that it is winter, and here in the NE we start getting the so called "winter blended fuel" (more Methanol and MTBE). I filled up yesterday and the winter blended fuel smells different.

Has anyone here used any VP Racing fuel as a "tonic" additive to their normal fuel to get a higher overall octane rating? I have not had experience with any of the VP fuels at all.

How do you order it? And what was your experience with it?

here is their website...

I have used a couple of their blends in my car--both straight and mixed with pump gas. It won't make your car go any faster, but it sure smells good. And if you are trying to bolster crummy winter gas, then it seems like a fine idea.

THe folks I have talked to say it is a superior product.

As far as getting it, it is available at some gas stations in five gallon cans. Also at speed shops and off-road facilities. Much easier than ordering it.

There's a gas station on RT 34 in Derby CT that sells CAM2 race gas at a pump.

I think it's 100 octane but I've never used it since my Cobra runs fine on the Sunoco 94.

Thanks Chuck and ERA427tp.

That source on RT 34 is real close to me.

BTW, both of you guys need to email me so I can get you on the New England Cobra Entusiasts email distribution list. I have never seen a EM before and would love to see on up close.

Today I am changing oil and cleaning the undercarriage on the creeper and jackstands. Puttin in some Amalie 20-50 Synthetic Pro. Found a nice source for it in Ansonia if you are interested. They also stock the Amalie Limited Slip Diffrerential lube and have good prices on that stuff.

Name of the place is Service Auto Parts on 527 Main St. in Ansonia 203-735-7883. REAL nice guys and one of the largest and fully supplied parts shops I have seen. Perhaps 7 guys behind the counter.

Contact me!

Chuck, 100 octane Cam 2 is unleaded. 108/110 are leaded and can't be used by cars with O2 sensors.

Art in CT, A friend of mine has 3-55 gal drums of VP leaded race fuel for sale. Left over from his SK mod season this year. Contact Jeff in service @ Nation Auto East Windsor. 860-292-1196.

Hey Rob
