To Dyno Test New Genesis Aluminum Block

We have completed the machining and building of our first engine using the new Genesis aluminum block. This is a 482 cubic inch FE. This is a pump gas 10.6 to 1, hydraulic roller, Edelbrock Performer RPM combination. Hope to run the engine on Monday or Tuesday and we will keep you posted on the results. Thanks Keith

Hey Keith, that block sounds interesting. Can you tell me more about the main bearing webs and caps? Are they "beefed" up or supported well and are the caps 4 bolt or 2?

Also, what type of crankshaft will you be using as well as connecting rods and cylinders?

The block looks real good and has the standard 1/2 main bolts and bigger 7/16 cross bolts for extra strength. The engine had a Scat cast steel crank, Scat 6.700 rods and JE pistons 10.7 to 1. Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and one of our hydraulic rollers. The engine made 675HP and 650ft/lbs torque.
