428 Flywheel
The engine I've bought as 360 is actually an 428 (bore 4.13"+0.040over) eng. casting C6ME, head C8AE-H. Now looking for a flywheel - should be externally ballanced. Does anyone have one left for me? And what is the imballance? Have the old flexplate (which I cannot use - switching to manual) and it doesn't seem like it is 28oz.
Thanx for any advice.

Flywheels
Bobo Summit and Jegs sell a 40 lbs steel flywheel. They sell a 20 lb. Alum with steel insert. Both are 0 balance but I would have a machinist balance the whole assembly together. The motor will rev quicker with the 20 lb but people racing say that the heat transfer under hard racing can cause the insert to warp. I have limited racing time on my car and have no problem after 10 1/4 mile passes at Run&Gun. The 2800 pressure plate was fine, the disc was glazed from the beating but still working OK. Centerforce 30% clutch I use without the weights on the pressure plate. What are you going to do with your car is the question. 90% street driving go with the 40 lb. going racing go 20 lb. and the car will run a little faster. Good luck Rick Lake

Rick, the problem is, I don't want to spend some 300 bucks (or 600 - alluminium) for a new one. That's why I'm looking for an used one. Anyway, thanks.
