blue thunder intake
with a dt dual 4 intake, i noticed the oil filler tube is in front on the intake. can this hole be blocked off and add your oil the old way thru the valve cover?
|
Yes it can and easily. The snout is just pressed in and should pull out fairly easily. Then all you need to do is go and buy a freeze plug (I think it is 1 1/2") and tap it into the opening. Might cost you $1.50. Probably the cheapest thing you will ever do to your Cobra,

Hi GFUJI,
watch out for leaks on your intake manifold. I had to throw my Blue Thunder away, because it was so porous that I once found water seeping into the engine from the intake manifold, which welding did no cure. I also had abnormal oil consumption (1liter per 100km) which I could not pinpoint where it came from. After replacing the manifold with a Performer , the oil consumption went back to normal. I do not know if casting has improved at Blue Thunder, but 10 years ago that is what they were delivering. |
I WILL probably be getting a new one. anyone had any problems with newer ones?
