I had heard that the S/C had a black engine, and the street car came with blue. Can anyone verify?I'll probably do mine in basic black(great for any occasion, formal or informal).

THANKS FOR YOUR REPLIES, I THINK I WILL GO BLACK. TMAN

I painted mine FORD RED, as seen on the Ford Racing Catalogue. See my gallery for a picture of my engine.

Basically, what ever floats your boat will work fine. That is unless you are a purist then it must either be Ford Blue or Black.

ATFER LOOKING AT YOUR ENGINE PICTURES I SEE IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHAT COLOR YOUR ENGINE IS, YOU CAN'T SEE ANY OF THE BLOCK ANYWAY, THANKS FOR YOUR HELP, TMAN

My car came originally with a 428 PI engine painted Ford Blue, that included the aluminum intake and aluminum cam cover. It also had the chrome valvecovers with the Ford 427 emblems.

The problem with black

The only thing I do not like about black blocks is you have a heck of a time seing where things are seeping, crying and leaking.

I used yellow. Check my pics in the gallery. Everytime I try to attach one, I fork it all up.

the 428 PI in my original 1966 "427" Cobra, CSX 3288, is Ford Blue. The engine has never been touched (and it shows!). but its original!

Need For Speed 01-28-2004 06:14 PM

Hi Jim-
heard about your cars from Jeff at Whitby's. Do you have any engine pictures that you could send me. I want to put some finishing touches on it before I button it up....

p.s. I had a hell of a time finding a mid 60's trico bottle

KobraKarl 01-28-2004 06:45 PM
