Well first you need to decide what budget you will have to work with. Then shop around and look at some kits. Visit the manufacters also if possible to get a better idea what you want and what you get. There are SO many kits out there you really need to do your homework. As far as the FE engine you have quite a few choices there and prices. Also evaluate you skill level and decide if you want a roller or a total build project. There are really no bad kits just bad builds. Take your time and have your ducks in a row. Be aware of everything you will get with the kit you choose and options that are available. Also look into buying someones kit that they are unable to finish. You can save some good money there if you find the right deal. G.

Although
Some early 80's kits were unbuildable with common knowledge , I would say bad kit . As for the FE , I would do a 390 build , plenty of power for a 2400-2600 lb car . |
Lethal, treacherous, undependable,.. Uncomfortable, loud, toxic stench, no mileage, hot in summer , freezing in winter, bone banging chassis, get out after a hundred miles and piss blood, then rebandage the oozing third degree burn on your left calf..........
......in short ,.....the coolest car you will ever own. kk |
Very nicely put KobraKarl!

FE.....
Brian,
An FE 390 with a good cam, intake, holley, and Petronix is about as bullet proof as you can get for ANY ENGINE! Now tires for that monster, well that's another story! grumpy |
