428 scj crank & rods
 
i have a chance to buy a 70 scj crank and rods. look to be in good shape. crank is std. he wants 400. is that a good price. thanks

Hell yes. the lemans rods along go for that and the scj cranks almost double. just be sure it has the IUA or the B on the counterweight and the rods are lemans capscrew style. nice find! G.

as it turns out he says it was 400 for each. so total of 800 for everything.i dont want it . would you be interested?

3.98" stroke crankshaft identification.
 
"1UA" on the crankshaft is SCJ while "1UB" on the crank is typically CJ. The "1UA" crank only has six counterweights while the "1UB" has seven with the seventh being towards the center of the crank and being smaller than the others. This seventh counterweight eliminated the need to use the cookie cutter weight that hangs behind the damper on the SCJ. The "1U" cranks also have seven counterweights on the crankshaft versus the normal six seen on most others including the SCJ. The "1UB" cranks have slightly heavier counterweights than the "1U" cranks to accommodate using heavier connecting rods and/or piston combinations.
