Hey Weber FE guys - timing??

Quick question for the FE Weber guys: I realize all engines are different, but I was wondering what timing you were all running. Please let me know your initial and total. I have mine at about 20 initial and 40-41 total. No trouble starting and no noticeable pinging.

All comments and help are welcome.

Zimmy,
Sorry to question your question but are you running leaded race gas?
That's a lot of timing. Did your motor make peak power on those settings?
You might get very high EGT's with that much advance.
I'm a twin Holley user but am always interested in Weber info. BTW, I run 15 on the crank and 24 in the distributor.

My motor likes alot more timing with the Webers than it did with a carb. I have installed the black bushing and the lightest springs in my MSD billet dist. I have 22 degrees initial and 41 degrees total. It totals out at 2300 rpm.

weber intake

Does Anyone know of a FE Intake for sale?

You can buy the intakes from Blue Thunder...just give Pierce Manifolds a call...www.piercemanifolds.com.

I think mine is at like 16 and 36..I may have to check that..I have leaded in mine right now but if you guys can run that much more with webers....I can really get more out of it.

Matt
