Motor and Transmission mounts
Hello,
I would like to find out what would most of you guys recommend for motor and transmission mounts. The motor is a 427 side oiler (550 hp range) with a Toploader 4 speed. I was wondering if stock mount would be good or would anybody recommend something else. i.e. Solid or eurothane. And are there any advantages to using them? Thanks for the help in advance. |
Priobe Try www.totalcontrolproducts.com, look under motor mounts. Remember you need to match all 3. If you go rubber do all three, other wise you will bind or break something. ERA has a single stud for there's. You will have to check yours. If you have room inthis area, drill a 1/2" hole through the middle of the rubber one's on the motor, and put an aircraft nut and washer to prevent it from splitting. Rubber ones absorb the vibrations better than urthane ones but are not stronger. I would also add a torque strap to the motor to stop twisting also. I have done this on mine. Rick Lake
