Do U Use Loctite on Headbolts?
In reassembling an Edelbrock head onto an FE motor, should you use Loctite on the head bolts? Yes/No? What about internals such as oil pump? Thanks, :) :)

You should Locktite the cam bolt to secure the fuel pump eccentric. Thats the only one. If you use studs to hold on the oil pan, you could Locktite those, I suppose.

I have used Indian Head Gasket Sealant on head bolts that go into water jackets. It does not set-up hard and prevents water leaks.
Do not use loctite. |
No, no, and no. Use engine oil only.

NO
No, NO, no.
Use assembly lube like the stuff you get with the bolts. Increment the torque wrench slowly at 10 pounds per set of bolts until you reach your desired setting. If aluminum, make sure your put the washers on or you'll be sorry. :3DSMILE: |
