'Three Whistles'
For me it will mean:
Folsom Escape! jdog:cool: P.S. They blow the whistle 3 times in the event of an escape at Folsom Prison. You know, the whistle that Johnny Cash wrote about. "I hear that whistle blow'n....." |

Nah, he was talking about the train that runs past Folsom Prison, says he would ride the train farther down the line and let that lonesome whistle blow his blues away...

Whoo...Whooooo...
Yeah I know, but the train is long gone. The only whistle you hear at Folsom now is the Prison whistle. Every day! And it's an old steam train whistle, so it sounds the same! It reminds me of his song when I hear it.

Also, there is a small 1/5th type scale train for kids in the Folsom park/zoo area, about 1/2 mile from the prison, and you can hear its horn whistle sometimes during events when they bring it out. I bet the prisoners can hear it too... I can hear it from my house too sometimes if its quiet or the wind is blowing in the right direction. Whoooooo. ...... Whoooooo. ...... :)

When I started working here, there was only 1 Folsom Prison, Old Folsom State Prison! Back when I owned my home in Folsom, I could hear the prison whistle from my hot tub. No, they can't hear the toy train but, they can see the fireworks from the rodeo & 4 of July! We have Peacocks that wander around my office, that have escaped from the Folsom Zoo! lol! I've Been their 19 years, I probably know them. Did you know Lt Peiper? He was a good friend of mine. I'll see you at the Cornerstone for breakfast in the morning. jdog;) |
