Anyone know anything about these? Friend ask me and I don't know good or bad about these rods. He found them on EBAY:

Clois,
I can tell you one thing right now, without ever hearing of this manufacturer. These rods are not aluminum. They are 4340 steel. |
You're absolutely right they are steel. I never looked. I had never heard of these guys. I just put down what he sent me. I should have known given the price and all.
Thanks, |
For what it is worth and to close this thread out. These Hawk rods are Chinese. According to my engine builder (Steve Carbone') they are no better (if as good) as stock. In short he said they are a 6000 RPM rod and he would not use them in anything he would put his name on.
Steve prefers Manley Rods in high horsepower engines. Clois |
Manley H-beams are also Chinese.
So are Eagles and Scats and many others. The cost of doing forgings in USA is so expensive that, unfortunately, it has driven a lot of that business overseas. |
I have a set of these. They've been to the machine shop and checked. There is nothing wrong with them. For what it cost to rebuild your stock rods and put ARP bolts in them, you can have a brand new set.
