rebuilding a 390
 
where is the best place to purchase a master rebuild kit for this engine ill need pistons rings bearings etc.mike

They have all sorts of FE rebuild sets in different stages.

Whats the max over bore for a 390 block?

.060" max, even then you should sonic test the wall thickness.
I went with .040" with my 390.

Depends on the age of the block. IE early 60s can't take it but later ones can. Mine is at +60. Obviously only do enough to clean it as +60 pistons are harder to get hold of than +40.

Remember, +80 is actually a 406 bore :) (Although I've not seen anyone offereing 406 pistons)
