427 Expansion Tank

I'm going crazy trying to find an expansion tank for my 427 center oiler. The old one has pin holes in the brass that won't hold up to a solder job. I'm dumbfounded that these things are so expensive. Gessford wants $415 and Finish line wants $350 but then you have to solder the whole thing together. The soldering thing makes sense to allow for different applications but the price is nuts. Does anyone have
any other source for one of these? I didn't pay that much for my new Canton oil pan, windage tray and pick up combined!

(and no..... I don't serve cheese with my whine!)

Tim. These expansion tanks are always on e-Bay. I've bought 2 at reasonable prices ($75.00 and $85.00) and both were in excellent condition and tested OK at a rad shop. I'm keeping one as a spare in case of pin holes.

I have one for sale.

Tim,

I have one for you. Was completely redone by the radiator shop. I did have the outlet moved over to the left side for the shelby. I can send you a picture if you like. Or you can just go to my Picture Page and see the one titled "Day at the Dyno" I will take $85.00 for it. I have more than that in it.

Morgan

To orient the outlet back to the right side. I would only have to solder the mounting bracket on the opposite side and turn the thermostat pipe 180 degrees. Is that right? If so, I'm interested.

Thanks

Tim...the tanks most of us have are complete and ready to install...no additional soldering......for one that you put together they run 285$

Tim,

It's a litte more involved than that, because you also have to turn the neck. But anything is possible at a radiator shop. Let me do some checking with friends I might be able to locate in with the outlet already on the right side. Send me a private e-mail with your phone number.

Does anyone have one that would fit a small block- 351W? With the orientation of the hose connection toward the drivers side?

Thanks,
Bob

Thanks everyone for the help. I found one on e-bay last night and managed to sneak in the last bid. It's the correct orientation so it looks like I'm all set.

Thanks again
