TWM injection and cpu on FE/BB

I was wondering how many guys out there are running the TWM injection with an FE or BB? I seem to hear through other threads that more and more are running this type of efi. I am getting ready to build a new Shelby motor and sure like the TWM stack injection. I know there are several injection units out there but the TWM is pretty much what I am leaning towards. Also what cpu are you guys running? I have heard a lot of good things about the Electromotive Tec3r.

Thanks for any help in sorting through all of this!

CSX4815 Mike Go for it You have to deciede what size throttle bodys you are going with? How big is the motor? What is your max rpm level? 48,50,52,58 mm I am going with a 489 or 496 motor and will use the 58mm. I have a F.A.S.T ecu allready in the car from my throttle body setup. Works great. You know you will need 40-50 psi electric fuel pump, 2 lines for gas, 1 supply,1 return, hooking up sensors. It works better than any carb. You will not get max power out of it at high RPM compared to a carb. You will need a large battery and good charging system, 80 amp min with all the electric on and running. Good luck Rick Lake

stack fuel injection

I am running Wayne's stack injection on my 460 in the Mile High City, it is totally awesum. Love the laptop tuning ability as changes are a breeze. I would recomend this to those that can afford to, do to do it, you wont be sorry. I will post some pictures later today.

Thanks Rick! I am planning either a 510ci or a 526ci. I want to go with the big bore option at 4.375 with either a 4.250 or 4.375 stroke. I would like to see at least 6200-6500 rpm capability with a solid flat tappet cam. I was planning on the 58mm setup as well. Do you think that I am "dreaming" to see that kind of rpm with an engine of that size and the efi? I sure appreciate your advise!

Thanks!

Mike

I have an aluminum 496" Scat billet stroker with 58 mm TWM, FAST, MSD, and roller lifters and rockers on a .64 lift cam. The rev limiter on the MSD is set for 6800 rpm and I usually shift around 6500 rpm when I'm on it. No your not dreaming. It's flat scary. With 3.54 gears and a TKO 600 5speed it breaks 335/35/17's loose around 4400 rpm in 4th gear. It does get your attention.

Mike those TWM 427 kits with the 58s will flow 4408 CFM giving you ALL the power you will need.

Hi Hank,

I was referring to the displacement that I want to go with. Is an engine with 4.375 bore and 4.375 stroke able to safely see 6500 rpm? This is what I ment by "am I dreaming"? I know that your injection setup can easily handle the induction needs that an engine of this size require. Thanks!

Mike

Oh, by the way, when is the next car show coming up in Santa Barbara? Will certainly try make it up to the next one, even though I doubt that I will have a car by then! Hopefully I will at least have an engine waiting for a Cobra to go in!

TWM

I have the TWM set up on my 522ci motor with 58mm stacks and the Electromotive Tec3r. This is an awesome setup. The torque is enough to chirp the tires in any gear and will run like a Bull to 5000 rpm. I have it mated to a TKO-500 tranny and Ford 9" solid rear with 3.08 diff. I really like this ratio and can cruise down the fwy at 70 mph and 1900 rpm and still get 14 mpg with this motor.....Amazing is all I can say.
