Did you see the original price for the block ---- $175

I've seen this block on e-bay before. It is cheap at $3900... I saw it sell for over 5k. The guy must have realized he could get an aluminum one for that...

Genesis has really changed the playing field but there is nothing like saying you have an original side oiler.

Buyer beware. There is still another $800-$1200 in machine work that needs to be done on this block to make it Cobra worthy. NOS also means untested. Turk got a NOS block that needed to be sleeved and had bolt holes too shallow for Gessford to use without even more work. Get a ford shop manual and decipher the color coded marks before you bid. It might be an oversized bore block (the colors tell you the bore).

I just picked up a backup 427. I got the original wrecking yard sales slip from 1972... $275 for a running 1963 top oiler... those were the days!

Interesting he only says it is "standard bore" that could mean it is as much as 4.245" while the average standard is 4.2325" Still a nice piece. I'd ask before I bid in either case.
