Dan we have been using the Ford Racing and MSD gears the most. We have been using the Ford Racing J steel gear on the MSD distributor FEs that we have been doing. We have used the hydraulic and solid roller lifters in the aluminum blocks with no problems as long as we check the lifter bore holes. They will normally require a litle honing to get on to spec. Thanks, Keith Craft

Finish my engine for Kirkham
Keith,
Regarding SBF and without running an internal oil pump, I suppose same as an FE with flat tappet all this becomes a non issue with steel gears? |

I guess that means the FE gear has the same outside diameter (inner diameter likely varies depending upon OEM or aftermarket distributor). > We have used the hydraulic and solid roller lifters in the aluminum > blocks with no problems as long as we check the lifter bore holes.
