rubber motor mounts to soft, help?
My 427 really torques on the rubber mounts but I really don't want to go with solid mounts. Is there anything in between?

Quickest way...drill 2 holes completelt thru the mount and backing plate a run 2 Grade 8 bolts thru the holes with washers under each end and a nylock. Tighten them to ALMOST contact the rubber and it will solve the torque problem while still letting the rubber isolate the vibrations.

Another option is a poly mount made by Craig Aylsworth. I used them in my SPF with a Shelby block, and there is little vibration, and no chance of header slap on the body. Very stout, and very clean installation. Much better than modifying a rubber mount.

Use a torque strap or chain. Use 6 to 8 inchs or what ever length is needed . Run a 3/8 bolt into the front of the head on the side that raise through the link on the end and attach the other end to the frame, so there is limited slack. When normal movement is happening no change or vibration added. When it is tugging on or trying to tear the mount it should hit the limit of the chain and stop movement. Steel rope or cable also works great and you can get fancy ends and fastners to build it (located in same section of the store). Use at least 3/16 diameter, and its also available with plastic sleeve to reduce wiskers that cut you.
