I flew to Indiana today to pick up my new Genesis block. Tim Mcloughlin gave me a tour of the factory and was a very helpful. Tim expects better availability with improvements to the latest castings. Early blocks frequently failed Genesis' standards which limited production. Many "C" code blocks were sold to skilled engine builders who salvaged the blocks but may have unfairly labeled all Genesis blocks as requiring a lot of machining. The "A" code blocks available from Genesis are fully machined and ready to build.

BTW, when buying my motor, I was told that all the Pond and CSX blocks required the same machining as the Genesis blocks did. Availability, as you said, was the issue at that time. Who is doing the machine work for them?

Burgs,

Keith Craft did mine, I'm very happy with it.

I ran into the owner of Genesis at the Hot Rod trade show this year. From the conversations I had with him, the machine work is being done at Roush.
