Duane we can agree to disagree. I just thought after two "Big Name" and well respected sponsors of this site and hobby chimed in on the thread your statement came across like "Watch out! these guys will overcharge for low quality work and not stand behind it!" I know several people that have purchased engines from them both and never had a problem or the problems were always taken care of to the satisfaction of the customer.

Maybe it's just me or the fact sometimes intent doesn't come through in text like it does in person.

It's all good. ;)

xlr8or,
Your 2nd reply is getting much warmer. You nailed it. "Big Name" means nothing to me now after seeing what I've just seen one of my good firends go through who paid a lot for something. I won't say any more as these things have a way of self-correcting. As per my original post - BUYER BEWARE :)

Which one is it? Talk about having your cake and eating it too. **)

I'm sure Tom's a terrific builder but...not only did Keith build my engine he persnally delivered it from AR to GA in the back of his truck. I never thought about it but they might be cloning "Keith" up there in AR just to make customers THINK he's involved.

Out of the three builders mentioned you will not have a problem - enjoy and be safe!

Yes - "watching others pay 2x" AND "he aint cheap" are both true statements.

A better way to state it might have been to say he is not cheap and he is not overly expensive but "just right". :D

Morgan, did you see the 427fe Tom had on display? That IS my engine!

You've spent more time with my engine than I have, lately!

I will pick up my car next weekend, and then the installation process begins!:)

Spending more wasn't required... Thank Goodness...

Actually, Its been quite the contrary and maybe its a reflection of quality and the fact that I got what I paid for. Since my first short-block and heads buildup from Tom at FE Specialties, and a few small changes I made later just becasue I wanted to, I've been enjoying the motor for some time now. So, fortunately, spending lots more really has not been required. Couldn't be more pleased with it.
