aluminum valve covers-twist-in breather

Anyone out there found twist-in breathers that don't bleed oil?.

Do your valve covers have baffles in them?

Nope: but I keep blaming it on excessiver crank case pressure. (or KC, Quality Control, US manufacturers, FOMOCO, and anyone else I can think of.) I was thinking about running a line from one breather to the other and let them bleed into each other. Really gets under your skin; doesn' it.

I have a related question. I have alum. covers and use the push in open breathers and they tend to fall off. Does any company have a twist In's ? (mine has the baffles) If not, this winter I'll weld in tube's for clamp on's.

Thanks,

Yes, they have baffles, there some 'old pro-stock' I found on ebay, guess I'll tap to the underside of the stellings and route a hose.

That's not working all that well either,...

Do you have a lot of blow by or are your valve covers filling up with oil?

Breathers

Here's a link to a supplier with some really cool breathers and breather mounts that don't leak. I run a couple on my engine and they work as advertised.

Here's a lil' tip on getting the twist/push in breathers/grommets to seal....

Materials needed.. tube of black RTV, spray can of brake cleaner, clean shop rag.

Pull your breather off and thoroughly clean the valve cover and breather contact area with the brake cleaner.

Place a thin bead of RTV tightly around the perimeter of the hole in the valve cover and some RTV on the other mating surface of the breather. Carefull, more is not better on the RTV. Too much excess can land inside the valve cover(s).

Carefully push/twist in your breather.

You can wipe tightly around the breather grommet with the brake clean damp shop rag.

It will not leak and it'll will easily twist loose with minimal intended force..
