I'm finally finishing up the Pond 482" aluminum side oiler. The short block was built by Keith Craft and the heads were locally prepped. It's "supposed" to dyno around 670 flywheel HP with 650 lb ft of torque. The chassis dyno will tell the real story..

A new aluminum flywheel, ram clutch and TKO-600 will put the power back to the 9".

Now... I just need to finish up the whole thing.

What compression are you running?
What intake are you using?
What cam are you using?

It'll be interesting what you get on the chassis dyno.

10.75 to 1

Blue Thunder 427MR 1X4, w/a worked over Holley 950hp.

Its a Comp Cam hydraulic roller custom Grind spec'd by Keith, something like.. 242/246@.050" & .649/.638 lift. Comp Cams doesn't make an off-the-shelf hydraulic roller for the FE.

.. chassis dynos make proud men humble.

Undy, let me know when you get up this way sometime (Yorktown), or we could meet at Bass Pro in Hampton if you want to show it off sometime.

Sounds like a nice setup

I'll give you a shout when I get it back on the road.

Unfortunately my 7 cubic inches wont make up for the 1200 lbs difference LOL but 2 stroked 427's are bound to sound good together!

How much does your car weigh? Any estimate of about what you think it will turn in the quarter (et and mph) with that engine? I am thinking about having keith build me the same engine. Just talked to him a couple of days ago about it.
Thanks,
Bill in Tulsa

Yes, still teach fire and emergency services at Tulsa Community College. Were you a student there?

I haven't had it on the scales in the past but it should way about 2300 to 2400 lbs. I'm sure other Lone Star owners will chime in the to tell a more factual weight. That's a good question about ET's or 1/4 mile times.. Full slicks will be about the only way to utilize any where near the engine's potential. I would imagine in the 10s with 130+ ETs. Driver skill will play a major part in the equation too. As the ol' saying goes... "What does a 300 hp and a 700 hp turbo Supra have in common?" ... "12 second quarter mile times..." I can tell you that I was extremely impressed with Keith's quality of machine work and the attention to detail. Every part, bolt and gasket was the crem-de-la-crem!
