dumb question?
I have a 427 s/o
If it had Hydr Lifters in it and I went to solid...would the lifter oil gallaries need to be plugged? I was just reading this? This is a seasoned block, cast as a side oiler, but machined as a center oiler. Drilled for hydraulic lifters, but lifter oil galleries are plugged to run solid lifters. Plugs may be removed to run hydraulic lifters |
You don't have to plug the galleries to run solids, but why waste all that oil where it does no good?

Mine were plugged, running soilds in a hydro block. I checked that out when I rebuilt the motor to make sure.
