Shelby Single Plane Manifold

I wanted to see if anybody has experience with or is using Shelby's single plane manifold in their cars.

Questions:
Are there hood clearance issues with this manifold (in particular with a CSX car)?

What sort of HP and TQ performance can be expected (e.g., HP and TQ curves) vs. Shelby's dual plane manifold?

Thanks,

Kevin

Stentor Kevin the best advise is to tell you to go over to the 332-428 FE Engine forum. The Shelby manifold doesn't look any different than the Dove single plane manifold. They add the CS logo on it and another $50.00 to the price. I am sure either manifold will fit under the hood. You are trying to compare apples to grapes with the manifold thing. Same basic questions are asked, what is the car going to be used for??? what size motor with specs??? is the car for racing??? show and shine??? road racing??? 1/4 mile bonzi??? A dual plane manifold works better in a lower rpm than a single plane. You are trading low end tork for highend HP. Alot of guys run the dual 4 barrel setup on there cars. They look very original from the factory with holley carbs. I don't turn my motor over 6,000 rpm and own 2 shelby motors. I changed the trans first and stay with a 3.31 jag rear in my car. I don't know how much driving a cobra you have done but, 368hp rearwheel will get you 12.5 in the 1/4 mile and is a hand full on 15" street tires. The car is fast, brute, nasty, and priceless. The handling is quick and unforgiving. Take it easy driving it. Couple of our fellow members have been killed by there cobras. This is not a car to not RESPECT. Rick L.
