427 Side Oiler Engine Stand
I am getting very near to picking up my 427 side oiler from Keith Craft. It is an original block that Keith is blue printing, assemblying, dyno'ing along with adding some modern touches.
I need to transport this from his place in Arkansas back to Houston. Does anyone have a stand that they no longer need that would work for this ? Or are there any recomendations ? My 67' Fairlane is ready to drop the engine in, I have re-painted the engine compartment and replaced everything! Thanks. |
When I sent him my engine, he returned it bolted to a stand on a pallet. I think they just fab up some stands there. Not a real engine stand for doing a rebuilt, but fine for setting it in the back of a truck and on the floor. Check with Keith.

Thanks. I will check with Keith or Tony.

I buy from them. I think Keith does too. Nice guy, nice inexpensive stand, works well. |
What happened to an old tire and a tiedown?

The stand has casters.
You can roll the motor into the family room to finish it up while watching the plasma big screen TV... the wheel marks will come out of the carpet....in a year or two :) |
The goverment will not let me get of the old wheel when I am done. The local recylcing center won't take it. My only option is to pitch it in a field or stand in line for an hour to pay Discount Tires to take it from me.
I am leaning towards a cheap stand! |
I think Keith only charged me 20 or 30 bucks for my stand when he shipped my engine.. For that price it's not worth trying to find it elsewhere.
