427FE starter motors
Have any of you guys had better luck with a particular brand of starter motor?

I've used CVR gear drive starters twice now....once on a small block and once on an FE.
I think I paid $189 for the SBF starter....and I bought the FE starter new on Ebay for less than $140.
They have removeable mounting plates, so you can mount the starter in the most convenient position for clearance. My FE is 11:1 and it spins it like the plugs were out.

I am using a Green Meanie. It has an adjustable mounting plate for ease of installation and a low profile. It is a strong little starter. Mine spins the motor as Brent says above, like the plugs were out. It was recommended by a couple of FE nuts I hang with. Cost was apprx. $200 new, picked it up new on Ebay for $130.

Who makes the "Green Meanie"? And is that PWM 3131 a full size or the smaller high torque? Thanks, both of you.
