Oil Puke Tank

Looking for the oil puke tank, that is mounted on the fire wall. I see it in a lot of the members pics. Where can I get one? Thanks:confused:

I see you're waiting for a CSX, so just get one from your dealer.

I got mine from Kirkham, chromed and very nice quality.

Does Kirkham carry the plain black one?

Thank you sir, that's what I'm after. I sent Kirkham an email, asking if they have it. No answer yet. How much did you pay for it? Thanks again.

Best thing to do is to call them. I think it's north of $300, since it is a $295 when you buy the car from them. . .

I did not get one, but I may. . .

Thanks for the reply, rsimoes. I got an email from Kirkham on the weekend. They are out of stock right now. I ordered one from Cobra Restorers. Thanks for your help.

Oil overflow tank

1 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys,
Does anyone know if the oil overflow tanks for the 289 cars are different from the one pictured?. I have attached a pic from a 289 car. It appears the outlets on each side of the tank go to the valve covers.

If so, where does the drain back outlet on the bottom of the tank connect to?
Thanks in advance.

Rick Parker 05-28-2007 02:14 PM

In the early days the 289's had no tank whatsoever. This is an after thought primarilly due to SCCA and other sanctioning bodies requiring closed system on breathers to avoid spillage on the tracks. The 289 in FIA trim while in the Cobra's ultimately used 2 tubes and breathers on each valve cover. As technology improved and ring seal became better (less blowby) they went to one tube and breather on each cover as pictured on 65 GT350R Mustangs.
