Thanks, John

Aren't their emblems for the side of the car or are the same ones used on the valve covers?

The emblems used on the valve covers are the same as those used on the body sides. The problem is in how to permanently attach the emblems to the valve covers. I attached my emblems by locating and drilling appropriately sized holes through the roof of the valve cover, dropping the mounting pins of the emblem through the holes and securing from the underside with twist-on spring nuts and neoprene washers to prevent oil seepage. Three years now and still as good as new. Some have tried clipping off the mounting pins and using double sided adhesive tape but, in my opinion, engine heat causes the adhesive to fail after a period of time.

Where do you find...

I don't want to steal the thread but;

where do you find good pentroof valve covers ? I got the emblems.

That's the $64,000 question. Other than a lucky find of a good OEM pair of covers, most repops are made in China and the chrome job leaves much to be desired. In addition, the foreign covers have at least one bolt hole slightly out of alignment requiring a minor amount of filing to elongate the hole for proper fit. The surgery isn't visible when the cover is installed but you still know it's there. Lastly, the repop chrome covers come through without oil baffles necessitating fabrication of baffles to keep the oil from being sucked up into the PCV valve. How do I know all this? It's knowledge gleaned during the R&D phase for my adapter kits.

The last thing is that the repop covers don't always seal real well around the mounting bolt holes. This can be overcome by using a set of thick cork gaskets available from DSC Motorsports and gluing them to the valve cover using Permatex Ultra High Tack gasket cement.

Here is a pic of the pentroof valve covers on my 427. They were installed by Keith Craft during the recent build. I affixed the emblems to the valve covers with a good epoxy cement. This method of affixing them was recommended on a previous thread. Hope they hold!:D

I ground down the pins on the back of the emblems and affixed them to the valve covers with regular clear silicone. It's worked really well.

3M double stick tape - The clear gooey kind. 3500 miles and they're still holding strong.
